Erica’s first experience with UNH Professional Education dates back to 2010 when after a promotion, she found herself in a management role for the first time. She attended Professional Education’s annual Leadership Conference to pick up pointers on being a supervisor in the workplace. “It was a fabulous presentation, with flexibility to choose topics and facilitators,” said Rice.

Erica soon found herself managing complex cross-departmental projects. As part of her personal development plan at Liberty Mutual, she desired to enhance her program management skills. In 2012, she enrolled in Professional Education’s Project Management Certificate program and quickly found herself bringing classroom learning back to the office.  “The course I felt was most applicable was Project Management for Managing Business Change, due to our ever-changing environment associated with project scope, key stakeholders and timelines.”

In 2015, Erica’s role at Liberty Mutual changed again, and once more she looked to Professional Education as a resource. As a manager of five direct reports, she enrolled in Professional Education’s Leadership & Management Certificate program. In June, she attended High Performing Leadership at the Mountain Club at Loon and was impressed with the program’s energetic and engaging facilitator, Peter Hughes, as well as the course content and luxurious venue. “I look forward to continuing my Leadership & Management Certificate coursework and truly value my opportunity for development with Professional Education,” said Rice.
