Let’s Face It : Drawing the Human Head

Drawing the human head has long been a source of  fascination and frustration for artists.  This one-day workshop focuses on developing strategies for drawing a convincing portrait. Topics covered include anatomy and structure of the head, proportion measurement,  drawing individual facial features, as well as how to effectively use a light source to convincingly render the head in space.  Students will draw from direct observation to practice incorporating these strategies into their own drawings.

Supplies for this class are not provided and/or included in the course tuition. A list of needed supplies will be sent out to students 2 weeks prior to the course.
