Examine concepts of multimodal composition and then develop skills to teach students how to compose across multiple modalities by creating three compositions. After creating poetry, screencasts and travel ads using online platforms, participants will learn about assessment methods for multimodal compositions. While focusing on concepts of design and multiliteracies in your own work, you will develop techniques to teach and assess those concepts in the classroom. Upon completion of the workshop, participants will feel comfortable engaging in and assessing multimodal composition in their classroom.
