Print Making : Wood Cuts

This two-day workshop will introduce students to the process of reduction woodcut printing and will cover the preparation of the woodblock, preparation of the printing paper, registration techniques, basic ink mixing, and multi-layered printing.
Students should have a basic background in drawing but no prior experience with printmaking is necessary. Woodblocks, some paper, inks, and basic cutting tools will be supplied..

A list of additional necessary supplies will be sent out to students 2 weeks prior to the course. These supplies are not included in the course tuition.

    Scott Schnepf

    Scott Schnepf lives in South Berwick, Maine. From 1981 to 2015 he was a professor of art at the University of New Hampshire, where he taught all levels of printmaking, drawing, and painting. He served as chairperson of the department for 6 years and in 2008 he was chosen to receive the Lindberg Award for outstanding teaching and scholarship within the College of Liberal Arts. His work has been exhibited throughout the country and is included in the permanent collections of the Library of Congress, the Currier Art Museum, the Portland Art Museum, and numerous corporate, university, and private collections. Since retirement he has maintained his studio in the Upper Salmon Falls Mill in Rollinsford, New Hampshire where he continues to produce drawings, prints, and paintings.
