Over 60 percent of children experienced some form of trauma in the past year, according to the National Survey of Children’s Exposure to Violence. It is imperative educators have the skills and techniques they need to maintain a trauma sensitive classroom.
UNH Professional Development’s new featured workshop, Trauma Informed Instruction, will be held April 11 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at UNH Manchester. The tuition is $169 and offers 6 CEUs.
Instructor Sarah Sherman has over 15 years of experience teaching students with emotional/behavioral challenges around the country. Sherman holds a Master’s Degree in special education and a Post Graduate Certificate in behavior analysis.
Participants will experience a hands-on, activity based workshop and leave with the tools needed to create a learning environment that is sensitive to students who have experienced a trauma.
