NEW! UNH Professional Development & Training in partnership with Cybersound Studios currently offers two workshops in Audio Engineering. Learn and understand about the use of audio equipment and microphones as well as principles of critical listening, digital audio, Pro Tools, and recording in our Basic Techniques course. In our Mixing & Mastering course, students will learn how to properly mix and master music comparable to those competitive in the modern industry.

Our instructor, Justin Sheriff, has worked with notable artists such as: Run-DMC, DMX, Chief Keef, Lauv, Greg Hawkes (The Cars), and more. Justin has also produced work on the following corporate projects: Xyzal, SONOS, Billboard Women in Music Awards, Audible.com, 10% Happier, Runkeeper, and voice recognition software for Amazon Alexa.

Introduction to Audio Engineering Part 1 (Basic Techniques)

5 Days | Begins January 22nd in Portsmouth, NH

This course is uniquely designed for those new to the art of recording and producing music. In this course, students will learn the most crucial techniques of audio engineering prior to the mixing and mastering process. Students will gain mastery in the use of audio equipment as well as principles of critical listening, digital audio, Pro Tools, and recording. Students will also have the opportunity to shadow their instructor for a day at Cybersound Studios! Students will be fully immersed in a professional, post-production studio.

Introduction to Audio Engineering Part 2 (Mixing & Mastering)

5 Days | Begins February 26th in Portsmouth, NH

Students will learn how to properly mix and master music comparable to those competitive in the modern industry. This course will cover the basic principles of mixing and will conclude with mastering students' own music. This course is designed for those who already have an understanding of audio and are looking to take their sonic production to the highest of quality. Students will learn how to craft audio recordings with the utmost precision to create sound of the highest quality. Students will also have the opportunity to shadow their instructor for a day at Cybersound Studios! Students will be fully immersed in a professional, post-production studio.

A Fully Immersed Studio Experience

Enrollment in either one of our Audio Engineering courses includes an option for students to spend a day shadowing an engineer at Cybersound Studios in Boston, MA. Spend the day learning, exploring, and examining real production & engineering with upcoming artists in a complete studio set up. Cybersound Studios has hosted  a number of highly acclaimed artists, vocalists, television producers, voice over producers, and more. You could be next!
