First-year and early career teachers often feel overwhelmed and alone as they navigate the transition from their own college education program, and supervised teaching, to their own autonomous classrooms. This yearlong certificate course helps to bridge this gap by supporting their continued development from new teacher to confident educator. Led by an experienced teacher mentor, this cohort of teachers will learn strategies to develop their own classroom teaching and management style, as they support each other through the year. Intended for grades 5-12 teachers.

For the past 20 years, Dr. Miller has taught middle school and upper elementary classes in Humanities, English Language Arts, Theater, and Social Emotional Learning, as well as Classical and World Mythology, Comparative Religion, Introduction to Literature, and General Humanities at the university level. She also presents talks and workshops on mythology, depth psychology, narrative thinking, mindfulness, and the arts nationally and internationally. As Founder of personal coaching and consulting company, Minding the Story, Dr. Miller helps individuals and organizations understand the stories lurking under the surface that are keeping them stuck, in repetitive patterns, or embroiled in unhealthy interpersonal dynamics with others.
