Coaching the Woman Executive breaks new ground in the field of coaching. You will learn how to coach women leaders so that they understand their unique capacity to lead, rather than adapt to leadership theory focusing on a traditionally male outlook, or "one size fits all” approaches. You will have the opportunity to hear insights from the instructor's experience of coaching and researching women leaders. You will learn about the the capabilities, experiences, and insights women bring to work - capacities that are uniquely suited to leading in rapidly changing, increasingly diverse, global organizations.
Topics will include: setting the leadership intention and context; research on women leaders; reframing beliefs, and beliefs vs. behaviors; building on strengths; and the intersection of race and class.
Objectives for this workshop include:
- Exploring the motivation for leading
- Identify opportunities and challenges for a woman executive and requirements for coaching this population
- Understanding the application of the dual lens that enables coaching women for self-awareness and system-savvy
- Address issues of power, gender, and ethics that attend the responsibility of coaching women leaders
Examples will be presented that illustrate how to coach women to capitalize on their gifts to successfully lead in these challenging environments.
