Attention Deficit Disorder: Creating Connections to Curriculum (K-3)
young child with large glasses and a stubborn face
Although your routine and rituals are concise and predictable, students with ADD may not be able to consistently participate. Come to this workshop and look at this diagnosis through an occupational therapist's eyes. These students are developmentally delayed in the prefrontal lobe skills of organization, anticipation, emotional control, self-awareness and other executive skills. You will walk away with ideas for learning reinforcement, breaking down tasks to help students become more accountable, and with scenarios to help promote independent work. Learn to connect to students with ADD everyday and not every once in a while.
