Out of the Attic and Into the Hand: Part 3

During this week of instruction, students will work with instructor Lynn Hannings on techniques and repairs that ensure good playability of a bow. This is the most advanced section of the Bow Repair series, and if students are new to bow repair, we recommend taking the other bow repair workshops before this one.

Skills learned:

  • Cambering / Straightening
  • Study of Weights and Balances
  • Windings and Grips
  • Protection of historical markings on sticks
  • Rebushing (stick and frog)
  • Alternative options for endangered materials used
