Introduction to Nonprofit Financial Management

Managing the finances of a nonprofit corporation, like any business, is a complex challenge. Even a grassroots organization with a small staff must consider not only accounting rules and laws, but also how the organization’s financial management appears to those who would consider giving to support the organization’s work. This course will provide an overview of the elements of nonprofit operating and capital budgets. We will examine financial reports to constituents with an eye to transparency, readability and planning required for best practices for successful nonprofit financial management.
