Managing Construction Projects

Learn the broad range of skills required to be a successful Manager of Construction Projects.

What are the different project procurement processes? How does the selected project procurement affect the level of design documents, the bidding process, and contractor interaction?

Managing Construction Projects will focus on effective communication during all phases of a project. You'll also discuss project sequencing; phases of a project; managing all the individual companies that make up the project team; contractual relationships between all the project participants; project documentation, RFI process, submittal and approval process, change orders, budget management, and, lastly, liability and responsibilities of each project team member.

    Michael Castagna

    Michael Castagna is the principal of Castagna Consulting Group which was established in 2003 and provides many project design and development services for residential and commercial projects, with the primary service of program manager and development consultant. Mr. Castagna orchestrates the development process from project concept through design development. He handles all the pro-forma budgets, permitting, design and construction phases of a project to ensure that the client needs are met. He has over 37 years of construction experience as a chief estimator, project manager for several construction companies. From 1989 to 1998 he was general partner of Atlantis Construction Group, a construction management company in Manchester. His experience includes management of large and small projects all over the country, from specialty retail stores to chemical containment facilities to the new Double A Baseball Stadium in Manchester. He is a four-term past president of Plan NH, and past president of neighborhood Housing Services of Greater Nashua, among his many affiliations. He is currently treasurer of the Workforce Housing Coalition of the Greater Seacoast. Michael’s business philosophy is to provide industry professionals as well as owners, real estate professionals, and legal professionals with a cut-above approach to fine-tuning, problem-solving, and forensic analysis.​
