Nonprofit Board Development and Governance

Successful board development and governance is integral to the success of the nonprofit organization. The concept of “board” versus “board member” will be discussed. Board members are often the most committed donors to the organizations on which they sit, often giving a substantial percentage of the organization’s gifts. This workshop will provide a foundation in developing a nonprofit board from the ground up, and stewarding, engaging, retiring and firing board members. Participants will be exposed to literature and other resources they can share with their organizational leadership to strengthen their board.
