This workshop was formerly titled Trainer Effectiveness and Adult Learning

In this workshop, you will explore your authentic self as a trainer and how that emanates in a learning environment and impacts the learners. It will require you to critically reflect on yourself, your strengths and weaknesses, your beliefs and behaviors, and your biases within learning environments. 

The workshops will focus on exploring andragogy, the experiences and motivations of an adult learner.

The Principles of Adult Learning and Trainer Effectiveness

  • Sheila Adkins

    Sheila Adkins is a Certified Professional in Talent Development with more than 20 years of experience across many sectors – banking, retail, education, healthcare, hospitality, manufacturing, call centers, and non-profit. She is an expert in business and performance analysis, developing organizational cohesion, and managing change influences. With extensive knowledge in adult learning, professional development, and succession planning, she has proven success partnering with organizations to align their vision to talent development strategies.

    Sheila holds a BA in Business-Economics and an MS in Adult and Higher Education. She is a Certified Facilitator for Everything DiSC Workplace through Wiley, a Certified Level 1 Facilitator for Compassionate Integrity Training through Life University’s Center for Compassion, Integrity and Secular Ethics, and has achieved various certifications in virtual facilitation, training delivery, e-learning instructional design, and evaluating learning impact.
