We all know the importance of social and emotional development. We also realize that it is developmental. When our students start school, they come to us with a variety of abilities. From year to year, we look first at their academic skill sets in math, linguistic and cognition areas. This seminar will focus on equally looking at their abilities to understand how to express, manage and be aware of their emotions and actions. Take away techniques to use right away that promote relationship development, interpersonal, and intrapersonal skills within a school environment and beyond. Let’s address how to create a sense of community and belonging within the context of a classroom and school setting. If students feel safe, accepted and included, performance in other areas will flourish.
