UNH Violin Craftsmanship Institute General Information

Who May Participate?

The UNH Violin Craftmanship Institute has programs designed for beginners, all the way to advanced bow makers, professional stringed instrument musicians, music educators, violin makers, and instrument repair persons at all levels of experience, as well as those simply interested in the art of violin and bow making.  You must be 18 years or older to participate.

What is Live Online?

The 2023 UNH Violin Craftsmanship Insitute will be held online in a "Live Online" format.  "Live Online" utilizes Zoom to create a virtual learning enviornment that simulate a traditional classroom experiance connecting learners and instrcutors online.  Given it is a "live" format, UNH VCI programs will still have set class times, live instructional staff and support, and interaction amongst class cohorts.  UNH VCI Instrcutors and teaching assistants utilize cutting edge web cameras, modified curriculm, and web-based tools to replicate a traditional in-person classroom experiance, as best as possible in a virtual enviornment.

In order to participate in Live Online programming, students will need a laptop or tablet with an internet connection.  It is also strongly recommended that students also have a working web camera and microphone to engage with instrcutors and classmates.
