We all know that we need to take care of ourselves to perform our many roles at work and in life, and most of us even know countless ways in which we could go about doing this. Why is it then, that burnout, stress levels, and chronic fatigue persist in remaining at all-time high levels? Part of the answer is that simply “knowing” does not necessarily lead to “doing” and the other part is that taking care of ourselves often does not seem as urgent as the many other things we need to do…until it is.
This workshop introduces the concept and principles of human energy and the importance of proactively managing this vital resource. When we balance and manage energy expenditure with energy recharging, we perform at our best more sustainably, feel more fully engaged in our work, and focus in more intentional ways. Learning and practicing these powerful energy management techniques for balancing highly focused work with intervals of deep renewal will not only serve you but those who work with or for you as well.
Course topics will include the science of human performance, the four dimensions of renewal, increased self-awareness of the effectiveness of your current energy management practices, and techniques for balancing focused work with deep renewal.
