In this session you will establish a baseline of your current supervisory skill strengths and opportunities for development by completing an "Essential Supervisory Skills Self-Assessment" and learn the following “Essential” Supervisory Skills:
- Organizing the Work - Assigning the right people to the right tasks and providing necessary resources to meet work goals.
- Developing Direct Reports - Knowing and actively working to increase the skill level of each employee being supervised.
- Managing Performance - Removing obstacles to better performance so employees can meet job and organizational objectives.
You will also receive an actionable “Essential Supervisory Skills Tool Kit” containing practical templates that you can start using immediately with your direct reports.
How To Accurately Assess & Coach To Your Team's Strengths | J.T. O'Donnell
As a first-time supervisor, it's important to understand how unconscious bias can impact your ability to successfully leverage the talents of your direct reports. You'll learn how to objectively assess the unique communication styles and workplace strengths of your staff so you can create a working environment that fosters positivity and teamwork. Knowing how to build effective teams requires tools and insights that can help you recognize how your staff prefers to contribute.
