UNH Professional Development & Training is launching a multi-day program uniquely designed for those new to the art of recording and producing music.

Students will gain mastery in the use of audio equipment as well as principles of critical listening, digital audio, Pro Tools, and recording in Introduction to Audio Engineering Part 1 (Basic Techniques) beginning Friday, May 14. Students will learn how to properly mix and master music comparable to those competitive in the modern industry in Introduction to Audio Engineering Part 2 (Mixing & Mastering) beginning Friday, June 18.

Instructor Justin Sheriff is an Audio Engineer with Cybersound Studios in Boston with over twenty years of experience in music. He has worked with notable artists such as Run-DMC, DMX, Chief Keef, Lauv, Flume, Liam Payne, Cousin Stizz, and Michael Christmas. Sheriff recorded, mixed and mastered the TikTok viral hit “Ashes” by Stellar which has over 40M streams and made the Billboard charts, Viral Hits playlist, and ranked in the top 5 for US Viral 50 and Global Viral 50, Spotify's official playlists.

Parts 1 and 2 each meet for five Fridays from 4 to 6 p.m. at 231 Corporate Drive in Portsmouth on the Pease Tradeport. Tuition is $499/part. For more information, visit the certificate page.
