Applying Geodesy to Boundary Surveying

Applying Geodesy to Boundary Surveying
MAGINARY LAND REGISTRY MAP SHOWING BUILDINGS AND PROPERTY PLOTS

The boundary survey problem has migrated from an assumed coordinate system into geodetically rigorous systems thanks to the proliferation of survey grade GNSS. This seminar shows a variety of processes of how latitude/longitude or projection coordinates can be easily integrated into the boundary survey workflow.

The concept of Low Distortion Projections (LDP) is presented as a mechanism for making grid vs. ground distances statistically the same values. Methods for getting old deeds and plans into modern geodetic coordinate systems will be shown. Proper description of the geodetic reference attributes necessary on boundary survey products will be discussed. A look to the future of full geodetic boundary products will be visualized.

Satisfy ALTA relative positional precision from real-time GNSS using permanent base stations will also be presented. The session is very question and answer oriented.
