Coaching is an evolving practice rooted in the principles of positive psychology. Youth-serving professionals, educators, parents, and other caring adults are uniquely positioned to use a coaching mindset to help children and teens navigate the challenges they face in today’s world.

This seminar will explore all aspects of effective coaching for children and teens with the goal of maximizing critical periods in their cognitive and emotional growth. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the background of coaching, how it differs from therapy, and how it can be applied in various contexts.

The science of adolescent development and positive psychology will be examined, and participants will have the opportunity to practice foundational techniques in listening, information gathering, and rapport building, equipping them to better support the youth they serve.
