Fundamentals of Online Instruction
This two-week online, asynchronous course will introduce you to the fundamentals and best practices of teaching online. Best practices in design and engagement are reinforced through modeling by the course facilitators. Topics include: the differences between online and face-to-face instruction, instructor presence, learning design, course mapping, learner engagement, and assessment and feedback. The course focus is on online learning design and theory, not the use and management of specific technologies. Students will participate in asynchronous discussions and submit work through Canvas.
