Plane Surveying Geometry
The basics of plane surveying geometry are an integral part of the surveying profession and relate to a significant component of the Fundamentals of Surveying Professional exam.
This class begins with the typical measurements from total station and GNSS and how those measurements are converted to changes in northing, easting, and elevation. Those changes are utilized to define closure computations and plane coordinate generation. The concept of simple proration type adjustment of closure is demonstrated. Coordinate geometry (COGO) solutions involving various combinations of bearing and distance intersections are examined with real world datasets.
