Unlocking Your Para Potential is designed to guide paraprofessionals and other support staff toward reaching their full potential as service providers. The workshop will provide a comprehensive tool box and time-tested strategies that broaden and strengthen paraprofessionals’ skill set, as well as strategies for avoiding and resolving conflict. Confidentiality, getting involved, making use of non-contact time and being proactive will also be discussed.
The workshop will help paraprofessionals be even more effective, more involved, and more valued support persons, all resulting in greater student success. Unlocking Your Para Potential is appropriate for paraprofessionals of all grade levels. It includes an up-beat mix of topical and thought-provoking lecture, engaging group discussions and engaging activities.
Chris Hobson, a 37-year classroom teaching veteran, served as a public school classroom teacher, vice-principal, and as a school district writing facilitator. Currently, Chris is retired and works as a public school special education paraeducator and education consultant promoting more effective collaboration between teaching/special education staff and support personnel. He has presented numerous workshops and courses in schools, as well as in local, state, national and international educators' conferences.
