
Andrew Mitchell
Andrew Mitchell is a writer from Seacoast, NH. His fiction has been published in more than a dozen magazines across the country, including The Saturday Evening Post, Ploughshares, and Tin House. In addition, he is the recipient of numerous writing awards, including the Barthelme Prize and the prestigious Pushcart Prize. Of Andrew’s work, National Book Award-winning writer, Jim Shepard, wrote, “[Mitchell’s] writing is reminiscent of Grace Paley’s work…at once wry and haunting and said in its economical evocation of the lives we’ve lived and the ones we still imagine.” NYT Bestselling Writer and Guggenheim Fellow recipient, Roxane Gay, gave distinguished citations to two of Andrew’s short stories in the 2019 edition of Best American Short Stories. Outside of his own writing, Andrew founded the literary magazine, Outlook Springs, which has published stories, poems, and essays from writers across the world. He's also taught a variety of writing courses at the University of New Hampshire.
