Unstorying® for Educators: Change Your Stories, Transform Your Life

Unstorying® for Educators: Change Your Stories, Transform Your Life
Unstory for Teachers side

How many times have you found yourself reacting to a situation, whether it's that a colleague left their 14th paper jam in a copier just when you needed to use it most, a student's persistent misbehavior even when redirected multiple times, a parent's angry reply to a sent email, or even a stressful interaction with a stranger when you're out at the store, and felt frustrated by this seemingly endless reoccurring pattern, or, in hindsight, had an outsized emotional response to it?

Most of us have. That is because we often construct stories about what we believe to be happening, rather than seeing clearly what is actually happening. We are hardwired to construct stories in every situation in order to interpret and address our response. But what if you could learn a practice to see these moments more clearly. To understand why we experience interactions in certain ways, recognize them quickly, and navigate them more mindfully?

Through learning Unstorying® practices, you can gain greater clarity and break free of any experienced patterns or unhealthy dynamics that seem to keep you stuck. Using journaling, mindfulness, storytelling, creativity, and guided journeying, this course will give you an opportunity to explore your own deeply held stories, as well as help you to see and navigate the web of stories around you, to create a healthier life and school environment, and a more authentic, freer you.

This course is for all educators and administrators of all grade levels.
