In today’s workplace, employees are frequently promoted to supervisory roles based on their technical expertise. However, success as a supervisor requires more than technical knowledge—it demands strong interpersonal and leadership skills. This certificate program is designed to equip new or inexperienced supervisors with the essential tools to effectively manage and motivate their teams. It also provides experienced supervisors with the opportunity to enhance and refine their supervisory skills for continued professional growth.
This program consists of six one-day workshops, including three required seminars and three electives chosen from a number of offerings. The program is offered in Portsmouth and UNH Manchester. You are required to complete the program within two years. For those wishing to complete the program sooner, sufficient topics are offered each year.
- Completion of three (3) of the "required" workshops below:
Stepping Up To Supervisor
Foundations of Supervision
Basic Employment Law: What Every Manager and Supervisor Should Know
Analyzing Workstyles: Using MBTI to Improve Communication
Conflict Resolution Through Effective Communication - Completion of three (3) "elective" workshops, listed below *
- Enrollment in the Supervisory Skills Certificate program. To enroll, add the "SS Certificate Enrollment fee" to your cart at checkout when signing up for any of the elective workshops (an additional one-time $50 fee).
